Safe Abate, Inc., a Washington profit corporation ("Safe Abate," "we," "us," or "our"), respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use, share, retain, and protect it, and the choices and rights available to you.
Information We Collect
When you request service, contact us, or communicate with us, we may collect:
- Your name, phone number, email address, and preferred contact method.
- Property address, city, property type, requested service, and project description.
- Whether a project relates to an insurance claim and, when provided, the insurance company and claim number.
- Other information you voluntarily include in a message or later communication.
Please do not submit Social Security numbers, payment-card information, passwords, medical symptoms, diagnoses, medical history, or other highly sensitive information through the website form.
Washington Consumer Health Data
A request involving asbestos, mold, lead, or another environmental condition may include information that Washington law treats as consumer health data, particularly if you voluntarily describe an exposure, symptom, diagnosis, test, treatment, or other physical or mental health information. We do not ask you to provide medical information through the website and do not intentionally infer a diagnosis or health condition from your request.
To the extent we receive consumer health data, the categories and sources may include:
- Exposure concerns, symptoms, diagnoses, testing, treatment, or health-related project details you voluntarily provide.
- Environmental conditions or service needs that may be linked to you or another person.
- Information received directly from you or, when authorized, from a property owner, manager, insurer, adjuster, contractor, consultant, laboratory, or other project participant.
We collect and use this information only as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, evaluate site and project needs, communicate about services, protect people and property, perform authorized work, and comply with applicable legal, safety, insurance, and recordkeeping requirements.
We may share the categories described above with form-delivery, email, website-hosting, security, and other service providers acting for us, and with laboratories, consultants, subcontractors, disposal facilities, insurers, adjusters, regulators, professional advisers, or other project participants when you authorize the sharing, when it is reasonably necessary to provide a service you requested, or when otherwise permitted or required by law. We do not sell consumer health data.
Washington consumers may ask whether we collect or share their consumer health data; request access to that data and a list of third parties and affiliates with whom it was shared; withdraw consent; or request deletion. Submit a request by emailing info@safe-abate.com, calling 509-604-9080, or writing to the address shown on this page. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity. We will respond without undue delay and generally within 45 days. When reasonably necessary, we may extend that period once by up to 45 additional days after notifying you and explaining the reason.
If we deny or decline to act on a request, you may appeal by emailing the same address with “Privacy Appeal” in the subject line. We will respond to an appeal within 45 days. If an appeal is denied, you may submit a complaint to the Washington State Attorney General at atg.wa.gov/file-complaint.
Website and Analytics Information
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website. It may collect or derive information such as pages viewed, approximate location, browser and device type, referral source, dates and times, and interactions with the site. We also measure successful service-request submissions and clicks on phone or email links. We do not intentionally send the contents of your service request, or your name, phone number, email address, property address, insurance company, or claim number to Google Analytics.
Analytics technologies may use cookies or similar identifiers. You can manage cookies through your browser or use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- Respond to requests and communicate about testing, abatement, remediation, or related services.
- Evaluate project needs, arrange inspections, prepare estimates, schedule work, and maintain business records.
- Coordinate with insurers, adjusters, laboratories, subcontractors, consultants, disposal facilities, or other parties when authorized or reasonably necessary for a project.
- Operate, secure, measure, and improve the website and our services.
- Comply with legal, licensing, safety, insurance, recordkeeping, or regulatory obligations and protect legal rights.
How Information Is Shared
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may share information with service providers that help operate the website or business, including website hosting, FormSubmit for form delivery, email providers, and Google Analytics. We may also share information with project participants described above, professional advisers, insurers, regulators, law enforcement, or other parties when authorized, required by law, or reasonably necessary to protect people, property, or legal rights.
If the business is reorganized, sold, or transferred, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to applicable law.
Retention and Security
We generally delete spam, duplicate, or test submissions within 30 days. We generally retain inquiries that do not become projects for up to 12 months after the last communication. If an inquiry becomes a project, we generally retain contracts, invoices, insurance records, communications, and project files for seven years after project completion, final payment, or claim closure, whichever occurs last. Specific regulatory records may be retained for a different period required by law.
We may retain information longer when reasonably necessary for an active project, dispute, legal hold, investigation, or legal obligation. Subject to applicable requirements and valid preservation needs, we delete or securely dispose of information when its retention period ends. Employee medical, exposure, and workplace-safety records are maintained under separate legally required schedules. The Washington consumer health data rights described above apply where required by law.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your Choices
You may ask to review, correct, or delete information you submitted through the website by contacting us. We may need to verify your identity. Applicable law and valid preservation requirements may affect how we respond to a request. You may also contact us to change your communication preferences.
